J. David Colprit

J. David Colprit, 73, of Country Lane West, Orangeville (Stony Brook Circle), went home to be with the Lord early Thursday morning, May 26th, 2016 at his home following a lengthy illness. Born October 16, 1942 in Dover, New Hampshire, he was a son of the late James H. and Emily (Bickford) Colprit. He and his wife, Nancy R. (Search) Colprit, would have celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary on November 22nd. He was a graduate of Oyster River High School in Durham, New Hampshire. Mr. Colprit was the owner/operator of the Elliott Rose Company in Madbury, New Hampshire and later owned and operated the York Machine Shop. He retired in 2007. Mr. Colprit attended Stillwater Christian Church. He was also a member of Roses, Inc,. and a former member of the Madbury Fire Company. Surviving, in addition to his wife, Nancy, are his children: Cheryl Desjardins, of Dayville, CT; Jeffrey Colprit, of Madbury, NH; Mark A. Poorman and his wife, Laura, of Levittown; William L. Poorman, of Port Royal; Jamie D. Poorman and his wife, Suzee, of Kent, England. Also surviving are his six grandchildren; Angeliqua, Elizabeth, Tyler, Cheyenne Grace, Heather and Rachel; his sister, Joanne Straight and her husband, John, of Dover, NH; a brother, Richard Colprit and his wife, Valerie, of Kamuela, Hawaii and a brother-in-law, David Search and his wife, Noreen, of Marana, Arizona. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Cynara Taylor. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 31st, 2016 at 3:00 P.M. at the Stillwater Christian Church, 39 McMichael Street, Stillwater with Pastor Gary DeSanto officiating. Burial will be in the Stillwater Cemetery. A Viewing will be held Tuesday from 2 PM until the time of the Service at the Church.
