Elaine Audrey (Smith) Lamoreaux-Rodgers

Mrs. Elaine Audrey Lamoreaux-Rogers, age 80, of Benton, PA, died Sunday, April 26, 2015. Born in Berwick, PA, July 15, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Jay and Eva Smith. She is preceded in death by her first husband, John “Fuzz”Lamoreaux, her second husband William Rogers, and sisters Doris Vasilow of Kingston, PA, and Jean Jones of Plymouth, PA. Elaine was a resident of Balanced Care Nursing Home for the past two years. After being stationed abroad in Europe and various United States as a military spouse, she settled in Benton in 1972 where her first husband retired after a distinguished career in the U.S. Air Force. She retired as Customer Service Manager from Giant Foods in Bloomsburg.For many years, she traveled with her second husband Bill during his trucking career and spent winters at their home in Jasper, Florida. She and her two sisters were often seen enjoying the Bloomsburg Fair in glitzy sweatshirts while singing “Sisters”.Until her health issues prevented it, she was an active member of the Benton Christian Church where she sang in the choir and served as an Elder. She was a kind and wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and was beloved by all. Surviving are daughter and son-in-law Linda and Robert Campbell of Orangeville, PA; son and daughter-in-law Alan and Laurie Lamoreaux of Chapel Hill, NC;son Fred Lamoreaux of Summerton, SC; and forever daughter-in-law Kimberly Lamoreaux of Benton, PA. She will be greatly missed by family and friends including six grandchildren: Michael and Jennifer Campbell; Amanda Campbell -Waite (husband, Steve); Shannon Lamoreaux; Ashley Lamoreaux Parker (husband, Justin); and Chelsea Lamoreaux. She also had two great grandchildren, Finnegan and Fiona Waite, a nephew and two nieces, and step-son Michael Rogers, his wife, Joy, and son Gabriel who reside in Bowling Green, KY. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 from 5 to 7 PM at the McMichael Funeral Home, 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton. Funeral services will also be at McMichael’s on Wednesday, April 29th, from 11 to noon (with a viewing from 10 to 11 AM beforehand). Officiating will be Reverend David Mansfield of the Benton Christian Church.
