Carlton T. Keller

Carlton T. Keller, 85, of McHenry Street, Stillwater, died Sunday afternoon, November 23, 2014 at his home with his family and friend surrounding him. Born October 27, 1929 in Fishing Creek Township, he was a son of the late Arden and M. Ruth (Taylor) Keller. He and his wife, Shirley M. (Hileman) Keller , celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on November 18th. A 1947 graduate of Benton High School, he was a 29 year employee of Magee Carpet Company in Bloomsburg . He later worked for E. Lee Remley General Contractor, Inc., of Benton and then for Bloomsburg Carpet Company for several years until his retirement in 1994. He had also painted houses part time. He was an active member of Stillwater Christian Church where he had served as a Deacon and had assisted with the past building programs of the Church. He was a founding member of the Bee Cellar Hunting Club in Stillwater. He was a member of the Orangeville Sportsmen Club and the NRA. An avid outdoorsman, he was well known for his beagles and hunting throughout the local area. He also enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. To many of us he was just known as "Pop". Surviving, in addition to his wife, Shirley, are his two daughters: Deborah L. Dressler and her husband, G. Nevin, of Benton; Sharon K. Bogart and her husband, Rodney, of Stillwater; 5 grandchildren: Jared Dressler and his wife, Amy, of Lock Haven; Sarah Delp and her husband, Mike, of Benton; Rebecca Dressler Mood of Benton; Garrett Bogart of Northumberland; Kyle Bogart of Stillwater; 8 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Joyce Keller, of Stillwater and nieces and nephews. The last member of his immediate family, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Keller on July 6, 1994 and a sister, Winifred O. Williams on November 1, 2007. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 26th, 2014 at 10 A. M. at the Stillwater Christian Church, Wesley Street, Stillwater with his pastors: Gary DeSanto, Scott Lyons, Mike Delp and Jeff Farley, officiating. Burial will be in the Stillwater Cemetery. A Viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Stillwater Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Building Fund of the Stillwater Christian Church, 42 Wesley Street, Stillwater, PA 17878.
