Brian Victor DuMond

Brian Victor DuMond, 64, of Stillwater, unexpectedly died at his home on Friday, March 25, 2011. Born September 3, 1946 in Croswell, Mich., he was a son of Bonnie Jean (Woodruff) DuMond of Unadilla, NY and the late Brian Victor DuMond, Sr. He was a graduate of Unatego High School in Unadilla, NY. He then furthered his education at the following colleges and universities: Delhi Community College, Delhi, NY; Southeastern Bible College, Birmingham, AL; Washington Bible College, Washington, DC; Kings College, Wilkes-Barre and was currently taking classes at Bloomsburg University. Brian was a former pastor of the Bible Baptist Church, Benton. He still loved and was devoted to his lord and savior, Jesus Christ. He studied his bible on a daily basis and attended services at the Shiloh Bible Church in Almedia. He worked with the prison ministry at the SCI Retreat near Hunlock Creek. He was also the owner of Victor Metals LLC in Stillwater. He worked as a welder and metal fabricator for nearly twenty years. Brian served his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the U.S. Army from 1967 - 1970. He enjoyed working with his hands. In addition to his business, he liked working in his yard, cutting trees and doing whatever work needed to be done for his friends and neighbors. He also liked riding his motorcycle and serving as a member of the Stillwater Borough Council. He is survived by his mother and the following children: Nicole Miller & husband, Gary, Wilmington, NC; Paul B. DuMond & wife, Terri, Shickshinny; Stephen V. DuMond & wife, Kelly, Berwick; Charles G. DuMond & Carissa, Knoxville, TN and Richard W. DuMond, Shickshinny. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and a sister, Mary Lou Grant, Unadilla, NY. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Sherrie Randall. His memorial service will be Thursday, March 31st at 11 AM at the Shiloh Bible Church, 123 Church St., Almedia. Rev. Dr. Douglas H. Lyon, his pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in the Stillwater Cemetery. A visitation hour will be held Thursday morning from 10 - 11 AM, just prior to the beginning of his memorial service at the church.
